Registered education savings plan (RESP)
Introduction
Many parents or students invest in a Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) to save for post-secondary education. Once you’re enrolled in college or university, you can withdraw these funds to help pay for your tuition.
Step-by-step instructions
To withdraw from a RESP, students usually need to submit a confirmation of enrollment letter. The enrolment letter can be obtained through students' myOkanagan account.
Here’s how!
- Log in to your myOkanagan student account
- Go to Self-service > Student tab > Student records
- Click on “Request enrollment verification”
- Enter the term and number of copies; Click continue
- Fill in the required information; Click continue
- Submit request
You’ll receive an email with a PDF attachment. You can also check the status of your request under “Student records”.

What if my RESP requires the registrar’s office to fill out a form with signatures?
Any forms requiring a signature or a school seal can be emailed to, registration@okanagan.bc.ca. Remember to include your student number in your email. Alternatively, you can bring the form in person to the registrar's office or campus administration office
Important note: Some forms might ask if you are “attending” the course or program. We can’t fill out these forms until after the first two weeks of classes.
My RESP organization is also requesting a statement of tuition. Where can I find that?
Students can view their term statement through their myOkanagan account.
- Log in to your myOkanagan account.
- Click on Self-service > Student > Student account > Account summary by term.
- Students can also request a receipt or statement by emailing registration@okanagan.bc.ca or by visiting the office of the registration of administration office in person.
Can my parents get what is required for the RESP’s?
Unfortunately, unless there is “Consent to Release Information” on file submitted by the student we are unable to provide documentation to anyone other than the student.
Once you receive your documentation for your RESP, it’s your responsibility to submit the required documents to your RESP provider.
