Student ID card update

òòò½ÎÑ is transitioning away from physical student identification cards as part of the òòò½ÎÑ education experience. Until now, students would apply for and receive a physical ID card, even though students do not require them for access to College facilities or for identification purposes.

In preparation for Fall 2025, òòò½ÎÑ will no longer be offering printed student ID cards. Those students who require an ID card for Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunities, such as practicums, will still be issued cards through their program or Dean’s office as required.

For students needing proof of enrolment (for discounts or verification), both and students can request an enrolment verification letter, and can also for an internationally accepted student identification card.

Requests for printed student ID cards may be granted only in exceptional circumstances. To request an exception, please email photoid@okanagan.bc.ca with a detailed explanation of your situation, including why alternative options—such as an enrolment verification letter or an internationally recognized student card (ISIC)—are not sufficient. Submissions will first be reviewed by Ancillary and Business Services and, if supported, forwarded to your Dean’s Office for final approval.

The process for employee ID cards remains unchanged. Employees will continue to receive ID cards for access to their work areas, with updates requested through their administration office via the Account Maintenance Request form, subject to manager approval.

ID card services will continue to be managed by the Ancillary and Business Services (ABS) department.
